BOOM! Turbo nonce is back and there’s plenty to report! (please go back and read the other entries so that isn't taken out of context). Diet changes, exercise changes, gym changes, same attitude though. So last week there wasn’t too much to report and I didn’t want to write for the sake of it, so you just had to wait a little bit longer before I can tell you all about my diet life! One thing I do want to clear up though before we move on, I don’t want anything thinking that me being on prep means I have less time for any one of the Ginger fitness members, bodybuilding is a hobby, you guys are my life, this is not more important then any of you, so never feel like asking anything is bothering me.
Niceties out the way, time for the big news… WE HAVE A CHEAT DAY! This is polar opposite to the last time I dieted where I had one to start and was told absolutely no more, well I started with none this time and have been given specific instructions to add one in on a Saturday, after already increasing my carbs for that day! It has to come after training back (legs were already slightly higher carbs), and it can be whatever I want it to. Just quickly, legs and back are your biggest muscles, therefore use the most energy to train and therefore can have more calories to help them recover. There’s also an age old saying in bodybuilding, legs and backs win shows (looking good for me).
So yeah, a cheat day, and this is where some level of maturity with my health. In the past a cheat day would have been a massive pizza with a donner kebab on the side and full fat coke to wash it down, this time around, I got Greek kebab without the bread, so basically it was chicken, pork and chips. This weekend I’ll be going to Nando’s, might get the chicken in a pitta bread, oooo feel so naughty! Before you all start following my lead and throwing off plan shit down your neck, the off-plan food in my diet accounts for about 5%, if that, if you want this type of diet, get over to train and track. Results won’t be as effective unless you’ve piled on the muscle and are training like a man possessed. 4300 clean calories take all day to eat, I must do what is necessary!
Gym change is next, as some of you may have seen, I am doing a Strongman Circuit at Hull’s Strongest on Sutton fields, and I have chosen to make this my full-time gym, sorry to all the JD ladies, but I won’t be sneaking up on you anymore mid lift. This gym has a better feel for me, I spoke about dungeon style training in a past entry, well this gets me away from the commercial gyms and back to the underground. I also find commercial gyms attract a certain type of clientele, the newbie expert, usually early 20s, loves to judge people, these are the type of people I hate the most, love to make people who are just trying to better themselves feel shit about themselves, and usually comes from their own insecurities. Trust me, the bigger and scarier looking a guy is, the nicer he will be, that person has no need for an ego because their appearance can do all the talking, nothing to prove unlike some little scrotes who’ve trained chest and biceps 3 times a week for 3 months. Get yourself down to one of my new session and you’ll see for yourself!
I want to end on something a little more positive like how balance when pushing yourself is so important, obviously sacrifices have to be made, but thanks to my lovely new cheat meal, date nights are back on the menu! I’m sure you can all tell that Sophie is pretty strong willed, but she’s willing to let me do anything I want as long as it doesn’t affect her or our family directly. So, it has come as some what a relief that we are able to spend some quality time together, and the monotony of food won’t be dragging my mood down either! If I have an extra spring in my step when you see me this week, its either because I’ve enjoyed my food more, or its nearly Saturday and I’m going out for tea! Feel free to ask me what I’m having, but I’ll warn you that I will sit and talk about food for hours. This is why it makes me laugh when I hear the excuse “I can’t diet because I love food too much”, trust me, I learned to make lasagne at 10 years old because it was my favourite food and doing so meant I could eat it more. I would be 30 stone if the devil on my shoulder won all the battles, and my huge appetite would get me there in a couple of weeks.
There was no real theme this week, just the ramblings of a mad man, and I mostly wanted to just brag about eating off plan and tell you all about my new gym, but before we go there is one thing I must address, its been brought to my attention that my Nannie (grandma), reads my blogs and I promised her I would include her this week, so… Hi Nannie Jean! You’re in the blog!!!! Perhaps I’m getting early onset diet brain already…
But, thanks for reading, and as always, comment anything you would like to see me discuss next week.
Aaron
